ABOUT FRIENDS OF VRINDAVAN
FOV is in the forefront of all community initiatives
in Vrindavan, working vigorously on many environmental issues
including restoring River Yamuna to the ancient ghats, cleaning,
greening, and instigating water harvesting and conservation measures.
The NGO is a community enterprise initiative
focusing on enviro-regeneration and care based on spiritual values
which are deeply ingrained in the cultural traditions of Vrindavan.
Vrindavan, a pilgrimage town, is set in the cultural region of
Braj, covering an area roughly 50 miles in diameter at the demographic
heart of northern India between Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. It is
situated on the banks of the Yamuna River and is known as “the
place where cows roam” or Krishna’s playground.

With the formation of the Braj Vrindavan Heritage Alliance (BVHA) the focus
on preservation and heritage is of the utmost urgency.
